sweetpea it's seems your getting bad luck by the barrow load let's hope the dr can give you some pain relief. That is a shame about your Son - hope things work out for them. Re tatties I like Winston and rocket and floury tats for roasting, Desiree for tattie soup (open for suggestions on that one) and stovies - I've tried the former and latter with a waxy pot, but I really didn't like the texture :-))

It is a waxy spud but very nice and also good for local shows. ps got some painkillers to take so will see how they do. Actually felt much better this morning which is typical. Wait a week for to see doc and by the time you do you are either on the mend or dead

Same as mine LB I did actually try a prayer once although I'm what you call a non believer. It wasn't for me but for a friend who was quite ill at the time. I asked that her pain be taken away and given to me instead as I am more resistant to pain. Anyway it seemed to work as she felt better and I didn't get any ill effects. if i was a praying type I would never ask for anything for myself as I reckon that is a form of greed. I just curse and wonder what I must have done in a past life to deserve any il fortune.

You are a man after my own heart Jim. Your son should put his name down for a job at the new Alpha Romeo site.

It`s going to be in the Vale of Glamorgan, Jim. St Asaph, I think.

It`s going to be in the Vale of Glamorgan, Jim. St Asaph, I think. St. Asaph is in North Wales Dai, been there several times, nice place! It's not Alfa Romeo, it's Aston Martin (James Bond's favourite car) & they're going to be built in St. Athan, Glamorgan, at an old M.O.D. site, but construction work isn't due to start until 2017.

Well akk the spuds are in now and the onion sets will be planted over the weekend when they have been hardened off. The gardeners delight tomatoes have been potted up and the runner bean trenches are all ready for planting time which will be around June sometime. One lawn has been cut and another ready to cut tomorrow but not by me heh heh. got my CT scan next Wednesday prior to radiotherapy and then a few weeks holiday at Singleton hospital where I can relax all day and relay instructions for the garden to be done by whoever thinks they can manage had to start my diet yesterday prior to scan but no problems apart from developing hydrophobia with all the water I'm supposed to drink in a day . I think the worst part is being limited to just 4 cups of tea per day. had a bone scan last week and see the doc for results on Tuesday. Reckon I'm falling apart but stil can put some of the younger generation to shame. Got chillies to sow this weekend too as the last lot didn't germinate (old seed) Another fish in trouble with that condition which causes them to swell up and go prickly or pineapple like. I think Dropsy but not too sure off the top of my head.

Hope everything goes well for you sweetpea, in the garden & the hospital. Is there something you can add to the water for the fish?

We put a liquid called Bacterad in every now and then. it does help to keep most nasty stuff at bay but I think it will be a case of euthanasia once again as I understand there is no cure, only prevention.

Things seem pretty miserable for you and yours but you still approach it all with pragmatism and your dry sense of humour. Well akk the spuds are in now and the onion sets will be planted over the weekend when they have been hardened off. I think Dropsy but not too sure off the top of my head. I had to re-read your post a few times fish treatment and hydrophobia very confusing for me. Mental note to self, read your thread earlier in the day. Maybe I won't think that you were developing hydrophobia because you were drinking fish water... However I can heartily recommend Pfish food.
