Thought it was about time for an update. yes old Chas is now in a box on the cupboard waiting for the plant I ordered from T 7 M to arrive. Sometime next summer I answered their ad in GN for the dwarf hardy tree fern plus container. The container arrived but can't get plant until next July. rather poor service I thought. the idea was to have a small memorial to Chas so as a temporary measure I got something at the local nursery. Not a great deal been happening in the garden of late. The tomatoes will be finished and getting cleared out soon. I bought a new shed to house the pump for the pond as the old one was past its sell by date and also got a new pond filter. The pond seems to have cleared considerably since as lots of sludgy stuff been filtered out. Currently the main job is leaf clearing as fast as I clear up another lot descends, Raked them up in a line as usual ready to run lawnmower over them which does a good job of shredding them for next year's leafmould and it hasn't stopped raining since. Youngest son got married on Saturday, bonfire night so was all dressed up but couldn't wait to get jeans and tee shirt back on when I got home. We were a bit concerned at not being at home for the cats when the fireworks were going off but they seemed ok in the end. still it was good to see many family members again as they are scattered far and wide.

I copied it over onto my computer sweetpea & then reposted it via tinypic. I'm not sure why it turned out the wrong way round for you , I always resize to 640 pixels in Picasa on my computer & then upload it with 'default' showing in the size on tinypic but then tinypic does have a mind of it's own sometimes!

The words 'cream' and 'crackered' come to mind. had 2 tons of topsoil delivered today for Maureen's new rockery which of course is me doing the donkey work sweated buckets barrowing it down the steps and onto site. Still it is done now so just the stones and some sharp sand to go and then no doubt it will be, 'I want that stone over there not here' oh well it will be a visit to nursery to choose some plants soon as only got saxifrage and dianthus 'Deltoides' at the moment. Who was it said gardening is good for you? Eejit!
