Not a lot to report. Yesterday was yucky, rain rain rain so ended up painting indoors again. Today I spent most of it travelling to and from hospital at Swansea so didn't get home until late in the afternoon and had to dash down to g'house as nobody thought to water the plants in there the good news if I can call it that is I won't be travelling to Swansea agin for radiotherapy as it has been arranged for me to go back on active surveillance which means I can walk down to the local hospital 5 minutes away.Weather permitting I will be working in the garden tomorrow although there is still one wall to paint in the house. temp. in g'house overnight went down to 48F. Def getting colder nights. Thats great news Jim, I'm so pleased

Weather still yucky so it's back to painting again Just finished first coat on last wall so one more coat tomorrow and job done, phew! Right now I'm having a cuppa and a doughnut Well did have a doughnut......its gone now Thanks everyone too for your kind comments. Maureen was off to her art class this afternoon so I would normally do what the mouse does when the cat's away but had to crack on and show willing At least the water butts are filled again, always a silver lining Just egg and beans on toast tonight so I don't have to cook, just eat sit down and fall asleep in front of the telly...........what a life Hope cherry has a good result from her hop sorry, OP. I knew a woman a customer actually who could hardly get up to answer the door so she left the key in the lock to save her getting up. She went in for hip op and when she came home there was no stopping her. walking here there and everywhere. Thought at one point she was going to emulate Barbara whatsername and do the Lands End to John o' Groats hike so I'm having positive thoughts for cherry.

Your memory is so much better than mine daitheplant but then you are a tad younger Had to finish off the wall this morning so painting finished now. said to maureen there is a problem. What? she said. Well, when you paint one of your pictures you sign it with your maiden name. 'So'! What do I sign my wall as I don't have a maiden name? I can't write her answer here. Anyway I need the ground to dry out a little so I can cut the grass again and do some other work. it all seems to be piling up waiting to be done now but we get there in the end.

I googled, " lands end to john o groats", As for the wall, sign it "Banksy" and sell it for thousands of pounds. 8-)My commission for that advice is 60%

yesterday was a mixed bag. Cleared the runner beans and started preparing the area for next year's sweet peas. The beans were sited in a less than perfect place but still managed enough to keep her happy. Well happyISH. Too wet for grass cutting but anyway had to spend the bulk of yesterday trying to sort out computer and other things. One of which was unable to access my online banking but eventually got that sorted this morning. I also took two cards to the post office to send to Australia (Two brothers birthdays next week) This morning they arrived through my letter box It was back to the PO to complain for all the good it does. This is not the first time this has happened and to say I was rather annoyed would be putting it mildly. I think Swansea must have more than their fair share of idiots pretending to be postmen. I didn't bother phoning the number I was given as having worked for royal mail I know what will happen.........precisely nothing. Finally managed to get out in the garden this afternoon but so far only fixed one of the covers that go over the fishpond. That did take up an hour or two and involved a rather dodgy balancing act over the pond. No I didn't fall in heh heh. The PC appears to be working again albeit at a snail's pace and I only came on to update while having my cuppa so back out now to mow the grass.

Phew! that's the grass cut at last. A little bit still damp but all done now. don't know why the post said last entry 2 mins ago. more like 2 hours. Anyway maureen grought a large doggy bag full of cakes and biscuits back from her art class so that meant another cuppa had intended to do a bit more but have ran out of steam now. It can wait untill the morrow.

They just don't make tools like they used to anymore. That was a new pruner to replace the last one which broke. looks like its back to the saw.

Jim I tnk you would get more luck with a pair of ratchet loppers. Have used these in the past and still managed to bust them one of these days I will find a tool that will outlast me. BTW daitheplant that carnation I took cuttings from is now in flower. must try and remember to take camera down to g'house.
