I agree Jim. Apparently, Salmond and the SNP have succeeded in causing animosity in families and local communities. No animosity in this family, my wife is English, nuff said

I was surprised but pleased that the Queen has made a pronouncement. I didn't think she would. I hope it has some effect on the 'don't knows'.

I won't say what i think of Alex Salmond on here, I'm much too polite for that I think the YES camp are worried which is why they are making so much noise...the NO's have been just quietly getting on with things.

I said I would not enter into this, but I am a royalist, having met quite a few of them at the Government House garden parties in Melbourne. The governor and his wife were friends with my grandparents. I don't think the Scots will be bothered about the royals. I think it is a 'dirty' campaign conducted by a self-seeking politician. My boys and their families are voting no of course.

I would hate it if Britain ever became a republic. I think the royals do sooo much good for this country. Thats brilliant sweetpea, if there were no men like you we'd be in a right old mess by now!

No empire now Mark, we are all in a commonwealth. What I would like to know is, IF Scotland votes yes, how will they manage when they will not be able to use Sterling, driving licences, passports, NHS or anything else enjoyed by the rest of the UK?

It's still an Empire, as far as I'm concerned Dai .

You know Rosie, Vera. I love it but husband hates it because he doesn't like Brenda Blethyn. It is a north-east whodunit.
