Anyone else watching the new BBC drama, "Our Zoo?" It's telling the true story of the family who started Chester Zoo in the 1930's. I had one eye on the TV screen...and one eye on the laptop (I'm cross eyed, LOL) when I suddenly recognised where some of the outdoor scenes were filmed....it's Walton Hall, just up the road from us and where we walk Winnie Fame at last for Cheshire

Yes we watched it too, enjoyed it. I for one did not know how Chester Zoo came about. I am just wondering now, if he got into a relationship with Lady what ever they call her.

Ooohhh...do you think so? Will there be scandal amidst the shrubbery, mischief in the garden....and dirty doings in the animal enclosure? We shall have to wait and see...

I watched it as well @di, I didn't realise that was Walton, I did spot Great Budworth though, neither of them are exactly near Chester Zoo though are they! I was reading a review of it today which said it's not exactly the 'real' story in that his parents ran a garden nursery not a corner shop & he'd always collected animals since childhood & had had a small 'zoo' in Crewe, still it makes a good story & is interesting to see how it all began. We used to sponsor a tarantula at Chester Zoo, I think that's how they started off raising extra money for the zoo in the beginning too.

Well you're both more observant than me SueA and Sweetpea I missed Great Budworth, but thought I saw a camel...."should have gone To Spec-Savers" as our old friend Sooty would have said...
