As you all know I have just moved back to Dufftown and i haven't managed to get a lot of the garden sorted for planting. I have LOTS of plants in pots I dug out of the garden at the old house. I've made a 'nursery' bed and wondered if you all think the plants should go direct into the soil or just sink them into the soil in their pots till spring and more beds are ready for their final planting spot. I'm in a quandry

I would probably leave in their pots rosie as why plant them just to transplant them again later on?

I agree with that, as you have enough to do getting the positions ready to receive them.

Rosie, nurseries and garden centres keep plants in pots for years, so leave them potted up until the garden is ready for them. Just make sure they are kept watered and fed.

They will not come to any harm Rosie left in pots, look how long ours were in pots before we planted them.

Thanks chums , I was swaying towards just sinking them to protect them from the winter, as you know it can get a wee bit chilly up here!!! As usual GF's to the rescue
