I have been given a pumpkin which is the sort favoured by families who celebrate Halloween. I love Butternut, Queensland Blue, Windsor Black, etc., but can I eat this pretty one or will I be disappointed? Maybe there are recipes to use the flesh.

Surely it can be used for pumpkin pie or pumpkin soup?

Well Dai the pumpkin would need to be good, because I won't waste my time cooking with poor ingredients.

They are grown to eat Cherry, not just for Halloween.

I really thought they were originally grown for animal feed. That came from some Welsh people in Australia, who found Australian pumpkins to be a different breed to those of the UK. However, this was 40 years ago. You win Dai, I will try it.
