just had an email from one of my brothers in Oz saying that one of my sisters has got cancer of the oesophagus. That is what I had back in '78 and I got through it after a 7 hour op and 2 months turned in. It is always a bummer when you are so far away when these things happen. I might not be there but at least she has got other family helping out. Anyway she knows I came through ok so hopefully she will too.

I take it your sister is in Australia too Jim? Email your sister, remind her of what you went through and tell her that you, Maureen, Pixie and all your friends on here are sending their prayers for her full recovery.

She will have had all the sentiments passed on and she knows all about my time in hospital snd i can't email direct as she is not online and is in hospital anyway. i think this is a failrly common thing for many families and maybe one day with all the advances in medecine it will get eradicated like smallpox.

Thats so sad sweetpea, it's amazing what doctors can do against that nasty disease these days. I'll keep everything crossed she will be ok.
