I'm sorry - I've never tried cuttings, G. I will look in my Carol Klein book though.

I haven't tried cuttings from bedding begonias Grindle. My big ones, I take the cuttings in July...just taking smallish shoots (about 3") back to the stem, and trimming to a joint..I grow them on in a shady/cool area of the greenhouse; hopefully they will have made a tiny corm by the following summer....its not a quick process!!..Hope this helps

I've got shoots coming on my begonias now, how and when do I take cuttings? If they are tuberous begonias, and a reasonable size, you could divide them, making sure you have at least one shoot on each piece. I've done this with several of my begonias, just dust the cut edge with sulphur powder before potting up.
