Raymond space for mj to grow well... not here you don't. something has eaten half a dozen assorted dahlias inc mj down to the stems since yesterday. Mix of front and back garden. Gutted. Commiserations !!....I've had a few chewed back to the stems........the bugs are very active this year.....  |

Thanks dianthus - Both I think. slippery little devils, and probably more to come as so much rain. Never mind I go narrow boating soon so I won't dwell on slippery devils too much |

Did not post in blooms as not good enough. First zoe. Only allowed this one to come. A bit young and shallow and centre not there yet and a bit small made a small but only just. Have reduced the number up. Also gave a lot of water to the main bed. Form I like and it takes the weather .   |

I had a friend who had a day boat on the Churnet, which I went on a couple of times. Great fun.... apart from lock duties..... and a wonderful change of pace.... max 4mph!  |

My folks had a boat out of Nottinghamshire for few years and we did it regularly when I was a kid but mark and boys never been so should be interesting!! Speeding fines will not be an issue just which pub to stop at  |

Hj in bud Lou78W we shall see how it compares to zoe . In is very short growing. Is moving up now . If it proves a difficult one to propagate which it seems I think it will be one that disappears fast. scrumpy here is the zoe bloom this morning. It is a small would Like it a bit bigger and longer stemmed. One I think next year I will grow much better Very tall here at 4.5 foot and not flowered.Loads of pea buds will select them tomorrow growing now 12up. Can I ask the second flush growth comes through very fast when do you remove it ? When you cut the bloom ? Or a few days before ?  |
