Put another greenhouse up last week and thought I would try polycarbonate sheets instead of glass, all bar 2 were ripped out by last nights strong winds.I was up at 4 in the morning transferring plants into my other greenhouse which is now bursting at the seams.I have riveted one sheet on put the clips back in and put silicone on them,if that holds after tonights winds I will do the whole greenhouse.

Thank you Ian it was a pleasure, I had a good time and was pleased with the turn out with some well seasoned exhibitors in the audience. No one went to sleep and there was no talking so looked to be recieved in the way I hoped. Thank you again Ian and good luck for the season.

I find myself rather bummed that I missed your presentation, Ian. It's rather unpractical to puddle-jump simply to attend a seminar, though. I'll have to console myself with the basket arranging class I will be taking next weekend during the club's tuber sale.

Well Frankly I am disappointed you did not attend Cici it is a poor excuse Hehe. Hope your propagation is going well Cici, you could always invite me over whilst the shows are on and I can give the presentation then and may be get involved with the judging, if only.
Are you aiming for anything in particularly this season Cici ? I am still working on trying to attend our National, may prove difficult as we are back at College and the students first week ah well we will see.

Are you aiming for anything in particularly this season Cici ? I am planning to do twenty feet of show blooms in partial shade, hopefully six plants of each, but still trying to figure out what few varieties to focus on. Blyton Softer Gleam and Sir Alf Ramsey are two, but I have to see what my stock looks like after Easter to see what other cuttings are possible of my show-worthy varieties. The leftovers of local tuber sales might help determine them, too. I want to be diligent about debranching and fertilizing this show row to see if I can compete with the 'big boys' in my shows... Comparing my blooms with the seasoned show growers has put me to shame the last couple years, so I want to raise my game. It's funny how the process of becoming a judge has made me look at blooms in a different way then before.
The rest of my rows will be the 'hedge look,' with minimal disbudding for vibrant color and display (like my avatar image). As chiefly a collector, I normally only grow two of each variety, of about 220 varieties. About eighty to a hundred varieties will be new to me this year, as I am tired of some of my old favorites, or culled others out of personal preference or the overall lack of plant vigor.

Marston George cuttings, out of the 10 cuttings I took off this variety only 1 has survived. I have lost about 2% of other varieties. Anyone else having a problem with Marston George cuttings this year ?

That is very strange none of Dad's have made it either. Wonder why. It can't be geographical and you both know what you are doing. I'll tell me Dad that you are having the same problem. Thanks Tel.
