I had my 1st show yesterday this year. Managed to get a 1st with a Miniature Pirate and am chuffed to bits that I managed to enter a couple of blooms of my own seedlings. My Dad did well including a vase of 3 of scrumpy's Greenways Zoe. Photos to follow. There were 3 generations of my family exhibiting at the show, my daughter was very, very excited to exhibit in her 1st dahlia show. She didn't get placed but oh the competitive streak is there. She was desperate to beat Grandad. Maybe next year... It must be a first family effort and with good results too. Congratulations to all of you Moonlight.

scrumpy you still did very well under very bad conditions. Congratulations, and I hope your health is now alright. The ankle is settling down a bit now, so will be able to get round the plants and tidy up a bit for the 2nd flush. I have neglected my disbudding and spraying this year so I can't grow them any worse, but this little video shows how they are at present after getting back from Southport, after a few days heavy rain and strong winds.

scrumpy we seem to be in the same boat with our health at the moment, I did not attend a show last Sat, too painful to stand for more than half hour.

People don't realise how sometimes the most simplest of things, ie, standing still, can cause so much grief. Will be booking an appointment with the GP to see a consultant if things don't improve in the next week or so.

Great plants Scrumpy, really lovely blooms. You must spend a lot of time out there seeing the amount of tea mugs on view.
