My Seedling School photos 2015. Not sure which 'class' have the most rebels and which are the most 'butter wouldn't melt in their mouths' and which class you wouldn't trust with a pipette let alone a nearby hosepipe. - or even which class has the most 'key characters' etc. but these are the 2015 seedlings' class photos taken a couple of days ago. Whole school photo (with the exception of my Waterlillies they must be still at Private school based on the patio) p.s. They are currently waiting in the garden like that waiting for me to crack on and spray them all.

My Dad's been round, 2 sacks of manure Yay! and armed with a sprayer of weedwiller. 'Would I like him to spray the front garden?' Well, is a daughter going to refuse an offer like that? Since I told him about the banning of Roundup he's been shopping, bought some concentrate and something that will attack mares tail which I have in my front garden.
Fingers crossed the super mix wins. (n.b. he didn't mix chemicals / weedkillers - mix as in mixed up the mixture from the concentrate).

Hi Moonlight it takes me approx. 1-11/2 hours to feed all the plants by hand (using a watering can)it would take considerably longer if I were to use just my hands due to it dripping through my fingers Ha ha ha.
When are you expecting your seedlings to flower Christmas hehe only joking all the best Moonlight. Ian

Ian humpf - doesn't matter that much about how long that they take to bloom, the main thing is that I get little tubers of the ones good enough to keep!
My plants are all very, very, very behind - hence I've not added lots of photos of how they are doing.
Just going to have to be a mega case of live and learn.
Thanks for the info on the water I've wondered how long it must take a few times.

See Tel's comments onwards:
Netherlands banning Glyphosate. The evidence damning glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup, the world’s number one herbicide for weed control, has become too enormous to ignore. While it won’t kill you immediately as demonstrated by foolish Monsanto reps who have been known to drink Roundup in product demonstrations to convince unwitting farmers to use it, the long term effects to health are nothing short of devastating. Infertility Kidney disease Birth defects Severe gastrointestinal ailments Parkinson’s Disease Cancer Nervous system damage And the list goes on. Finally, governments around the world are starting to take action, with the Dutch Parliament in recent days voting to ban all glyphosate-based herbicides including Roundup, from the end of 2015 and beyond. Esther Ouwehand, Dutch Parliament member who introduced the successful motion to ban the deadly herbicide for private use, had this to say: Agricultural pesticides in user-friendly packaging are sold in abundance to private persons. In garden centres RoundUp is promoted as harmless, but unsuspecting customers have no idea what the risks of this product are. Especially children are sensitive to toxic substances and should therefore not be exposed to it. France Poised to Ban Roundup and Follow Netherlands’ Lead Scrumpy had an interesting reply.
My Dad has bought enough RoundUp concentrate to last him out. Doesn't do things by halves when he is a man with a mission. www.progreen.co.uk/index.php

Hi Moonlight a good link there. There is a product called Sirius that looks promising for red spider, thrip and other aphids 1ltr £46 far cheaper than Dynamec if you can still get it there is still some available.

Meh.... the Netherlands may have banned it. But knowing the Dutch, that's probably because they where snorting it or something And the French are only banning it because it is a British company !

The girls entered 2 pots each (max to entries per person) Pirate came 1st and Fairy came 3rd with hers.
Butterfly cakes Fairy's is on the pink tray - 2nd and Pirate's is on the yellow tray.
Miniature gardens / allotments Fairy came 1st and Pirate came 2rd.
Which means each daughter came 1st, 2nd and 3rd. How good is that? Potatoes - weren't contenders - middle of the pack - girls certainly not complaining! They knew from the start that they would be winners because they were looking forward to eating the chocolate that each child gets for exhibiting. 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize money don't matter to a child whose eyes are gleaming at the thought of the chocolate. (Don't blame them, think that they should do with the adult classes - well especially the dahlia classes.)

If you combine the results an extra 7 points each (1st = 4points, 2nd = 2 points, 3rd = 1 point and Highly Commended = 1/2 a point)which brings Fairy up to 12 1/2 points and Fairy up to 17 points. So that's them 1st and 2nd overal - so both of them in with a real chance
Roll on the Autumn Show... (Well more of a arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh never be ready for the show).

Oops - won't be winning this one as they have not yet been planted.
This is the equivalent to the potatoes an open competition and not towards the Children's Cup.
