or as HH says "Getting even more mud inside the house".
So here is: Purple wellies, tiny steps - Getting muddier! Diary of a bizarre erratic gardener
Still don't know what I am doing but having a go.
I started my Diary of a bizarre erratic gardener on January 2nd 2013 and as it has gone on a bit (102 pages) and after a lot of mullings, I think it is a good idea to start a fresh thread. I don’t want the old one closed, I just find it a bit of a faff trawling through the pages, looking for something specific that I mentioned a couple of months ago. (Might add a post with key events and which page to read them, another day.)
Last year:Diary of a bizarre erratic gardener.
...My dream this year is to go for the Novice Cup at my local 3 shows (please don't ask where.)
What I don't want to do is to mean well. Lots of ideas and good intentions and nothing planted. I want to achieve, have some sort of personal pride in my garden and no longer be embarrassed. Anything that I plant and it grows will be something of pride and to me, will be a success (even if it was one thing)
PS You can roll your eyes a bit when I do something daft but not when I'm looking. I am proud to say that I managed to enter a few Novice classes and even won some but I didn’t know enough about gardening or grow enough to ever be a realistic competitor for the cup. I might have had a possibility of a chance in the future shows had I not been tempted by the 'darkside' and entered non-novice dahlia classes and won! So I am not complaining! Far from it.
Last year I said and it still holds true (even though I wasn’t very good at it): and I think that I should stick with that, maybe I will be better at it because I won’t be stretching myself so thin*(if only that were true*) (by trying to rise to the challenge of the Novice Cup) Who knows live and learn, tiny steps, lots of mud and if it is anything like last year, gardening in the middle of the night.
Maybe this year, I won't be flailing around (quite so much) in the pitch darkness because now I've got my gardening (wear on your) head light.
So there you go, intro over my
Diary of a bizarre erratic gardener continues – 2014 You have been warned…. mwahahahaha (Count Duckula 'sinister' laughter, that isn't)
PS You can still roll your eyes a bit when I do something daft but not when I'm looking.

Purple Wellies Post Index This is my 3rd Purple Wellies Diary and in the past I've spent ages trawling through, searching for specific posts and photos.
I don't like editing posts (I'd rather re-type the post than have one show up as 'edited') but this post is the exception to that rule. For the big things that I want to remember or find; I am going to post an index with hyperlinks direct to specific pages of my Diaries. There's a method behind my madness, 'onest guvn'or

I think you idea of restarting the Diary for 2015 is an excellent one Moonlight, and one that I may steal from you !! You also mentioned "..to mean well. Lots of ideas and good intentions and nothing planted.." Well, thats been me in a nutshel for the last 3 years. Everything was haphazard, and many plants where neglected, or allowed to bolt and never harvested. Well, your words - and attitude - will be an inspiration to me ! All the best for your shows in 2015 !

Happy New Year to you to Roofy, I love reading your Diary, it always cracks me up. I think mine used to be a tad funnier when I 1st started mine but last year I think I got a bit bogged down with the Dahlias - so tad boring. I think I must have done a tad too much mulling rather than just going for it.
I think I was a bit of a dahlia bore - guilty as charged but well

Goals for this year: To be more organised and tidier in the garden & house.
Took some photos of the garden and even allowing for the high winds, there is so much toot around the garden. Would have posted them here but I've decided to leave them on the memory card and then hopefully I will feel less when I do a before and after photo, as hopefully the after photo will be a massive improvement.

Saw Mum and Dad tonight. We went out for a meal. He asked if I wanted anything from Halls catalogue, he's got his. Mine not come yet.
Maybe tomorrow.
I've been asked a few times today what do I want for my Birthday. The thing is the only things that I can think of I can't really have.
I would like to have electricity to my Greenhouse. I would like heating for my Greenhouse.
Fairy took that to mean that I would be disappointed with anything else that I had coming. Had to explain in detail that I have everything that I ever wanted right now I don't really need presents. I'm happy with what I have.
I am loved. I have our family. That's enough really.
mind you electric down the greenhouse would be nice but to be honest I am just happy with what I have.
Still not sure she understands 100% but I hope that she will do one day.

Well I made it as far as the Bathroom before Pirate sneaked in. "Happy Birthday Mummy! Do you like my eyes?" Yes very pretty. "Do you like my cheeks?" Yes very sparkly. Lots of glitter. "Do you like my lips?" Oh yes. Very pretty and sparkly. 2 cold hands reach out and touch my shoulders. Oh you've got glitter on your hands. Cue grin and giggle.
Who put it on for you? (Fairy)

Fairy appears. "Morning Mummy. Happy Birthday! Have you seen (Pirate)?) I did her make up! Phew no rows there then. Pirate reappears with now attractive big splodge of black glitter on her nose. (think black glitter face paint rather than double identify gentle hue of black sparkles.) "Have you been using my make up?" "yes" Oh dear...
Luckily no row ensues and I am asked if I know where a specific pink and black dress is located and was i ready for my presents yet?
Er no.
Fairy locates a suitable sparkly outfit and heads back to her room and returns with a face of even more glitter than her Pirate Fairy sister.
"Are you ready for your presents yet?"
Then heads off and Pirate returns with her camouflaged Fairy wings and a pair of camouflaged Fairy wings for me, a Fairy crown for me together with a purple fairy wand which has also been camouflaged.

l opened the door to discover a present in the doorway with a trail of going down the stairs on the left with another trail coming back up stairs on the right. I hadn't guessed that but I was reliably informed of this by Fairy. Who also told me that The Naughty Pirate fairy had taken my presents and hidden them along a Fairy treasure hunt. There was a touch of indignant protest when I Stopped off mid treasure hunt to reach up to sick up mug and then bend down, collect carton from fridge and fill mug with Mummy Fairy of necter aka chocolate mistake (even though I hadn't moved away from the path.). Lucky Mummy Fairy has some more solar lamps these ones change colour and a New camera. So very lucky Mummy. Mum, Dad and my Sister will be over later. Hope my body co-operates. Trip to Doctor planned for tomorrow.
