I was picturing a snail staggering along carrying a slug pellet in his 'hands' whilst wearing a pair of Marigolds until I realised you were talking about marigold seedlings roofgardener !

LOL.... you are incoriggable, Daitheplant.
OK.. on with the news.
The First Harvest A major benchmark last night: I harvested the first of 2015's crop.
Just a couple of pak choi leaves, and some spinache. Steamed. T'was only a tablespoon full.. but it is was a home-grown organic tablespoon full !

Well done, roofie.
I might have a few radish in a couple of weeks, and I have flowers on my earliest peas.

Flowers on your peas ? Wow - that's great.
My radishes are putting up leaves vigerously enough but.. well.. how long does it usually take for the actual radish to form ?

They are very quick to get big enough and huge ones can get woody or they will bolt on a whim. If any of the stalks start growing up, pull them out and bin, as usually no bulbous root will form.
One mini pea pod found this afternoon, but it will probably be another four weeks before anything in the pods.

I love them Di, I just haven`t got round to sowing them yet. Hopefully will do on Monday, along with spuds and other rootcrops.

I have to grow mine indoors and plant out when well-rooted at 3 - 4" high. I think mice or shrews eat the seeds just as they are fat and germinating. They leave the growing tip on the ground.

If there`s a small hole next to the seedling then it`s mice.
