Because its not on the "prescribed list" ..The EU have banned lots of chemicals from their lists of suitable insecticides/fungicides....

Joy, Lou is correct. Anything not registered as a legitimate pesticide is illegal to use. If caught you face a fine of up to £5000. The same applies if you use treatments which have been taken off the market.

I cant see why not as I washed the dishes in it before spraying on the blackfly It is a dish washing cleaner, not a pesticide. Any complaints please refer them to the suitable department of the EU.

I don't know what your remarks are about being fined 5,000 then reported to the E.U for using cheap washing up liquid which I go-ogled and nothing states I cant use it perhaps I had better use soap and other products as other people suggest

Did you know? •Only products approved by the government can be used as pesticides in the garden. That means home-made solutions, made from substances such as washing up liquid, are technically illegal. This is on the BBC Gardening site.
I googled it too joysie21 and there was a lot of information there. Buy the correct insecticide and you will know it should work.

As a professional gardener I know it is illegal to use non registered solutions for the treatment of pests. If you want to carry on using washing up liquid is your choice. All I said was, if you get caught, you face fines of up to £5,000.
