Had a great walk today along the former (mostly raised track) Wannie line that used to run between Morpeth and Bellingham in Northumberland. I only did a 9 mile circular route on a small section. This included the folly called Rothley Castle which was quite interesting as we had the key for it and went inside and up on to the top of the tower Three of the four of us on the top. The photographer can't stand heights so took them. Looking like a 90's indie album cover... The top of Rothley Crag was covered in carved names with dates up to about 2010. The daddy of them all was the original by the builder of the folly and landowner. Looking north on top of Rothley Crag. I was hoping the photographer could have got the sheer drop to my right but he missed it off. This doesn't look so dramatic Enormous lime kilns We finished of the day with a pint of Guinness in the well known Dyke Neuk pub

The one on the crag reminds me a bit of Alderley Edge near here, I don't like to stand too near the edge of that & my O.H. would probably have been the one taking the photos from the bottom of the folly as he's not keen on heights either when it involves buildings or bridges, we would both have enjoyed the Guinness at the end of your walk though Fractal!

You must feel very healthy after that long walk Steve. It is very pretty, but you have no dog with you. I can lend you one anytime you need one.

the scenery is stunning, what a great place to walk, although I agree with Cherry, you do need a dog to go with it
