LB... Jeapers that's a lot of mixing stuff lol my house wouldn't be big enough to house it, it's barely big enough to house us lol ok so that's a little bit of an exaggeration Prayer book, now that's something I've been meaning to get/make. Although I wouldn't be thinking of adding prayers to it like you've been thinking of, while that is still a good idea. I was thinking more along the lines of just binding nice pages with nice verses on some of the pages, perhaps the odd prayer like you mentioned, but with a lot of journal pages to add to my ever growing list of prayer requests, via church and friends etc, never mind what you hear on the news using a leather cover sounds amazing. I'd be thinking of just paper decorating the covers of mine before binding, adding a few fibres to the wire binding and embellish the cover once made. What about specialising in books for different occassions? ie a combination of prayers, psalms and poems for certain occassions? Weddings, Births, Funerals, Christenings etc?

I made a double one years ago using Geoff hamiltons instructions , it was made in the same way . I used treated wood, which is all still in good nick but stupidly used Untreated pieced I had for the corner posts to save a few pound , these have rotted and the thing is falling apart more work on the horison . Did you use a plan or just make the measurements yourself ?

I worked out the sizing I wanted, then got our local sawmill to cut all the pieces to the right size and put it together, saved a lot of sawing I can tell you this is all treated wood so it should last a while

Or it could be a series of books LB. Another good idea daitheplant though that is the very thing I am trying to solve , having lots of lovely prayers in lots of books . I`m trying to bring them all together . BUT I have had a light bulb moment I could add a pouch at the back of the book and make lots of little books for different occasions like Easter Christmas , Novenas ( being catholic ) , special intentions , and those special occasions like some one sick and swap them about as the situation changes .

Sounds like a good idea LB I remember being to a Novena once a few years ago with Catholic friends. It was lovely. It was also quite funny seeing our friends faces when we started belting out the songs as we knew them too, being Church-goers then and Christians now, so it seems some of our song choices were the same they looked totally baffled
