this was my golden hop last year, it looked more like net curtains, has anyone any idea what it could be, almost every leaf was affected, and is it likely to return this year, I'm debating whether to dig it up and get rid of it if it's going to happen every year as it looks awful

Lou thanks, I gave up and did dig it up, the roots had travelled everywhere, so I won't be putting it back anywhere else, I think I'll replace it with a rose

not sure yet Rosie, I have a couple of clematis there, one pale blue and one dark purple, it can't be pink as I have orange red and yellow up there , I quite like Bridge of Sighs and Bright Future, but I haven't looked at the yellow ones yet and I would like it bee friendly if possible too

Thanks for your input Dai, I dug it out and was going to replant until I saw the size of the roots, it's now heading for the compost I think
