Just went down the garden with the bat detector & 3 flew over my head, very loud clicking on the detector & flying very fast, they must be pipistrelles as that's what we usually get, really glad they're back after their hibernation!

No Dai, I have got a bat box though which I got as part of a competition prize a couple of years gao, there was no suitable place to put it on the old house but I'm hoping to put it up here after we've had some work done on the gutters. We always had bats every year at our old house, they used to fly right past my head at the back door & round the trees & shrubs catching moths.

We had them in Oxfordshire, but I haven't noticed any here in Norfolk.

This Long eared Bat was found at work this morning in our main shop presumably in there all night. Seemed ok this morning so we put it in the goods in shed where it hung about all day

Hope so too peony. No idea SueA. Thanks both of you. I deliberately angled the box to get it's shadow on the back wall. I thought it looked good. We put it in the shade of course and it seemed happy stretching and cleaning itself occasionally. This species hunts in an unusual way by plucking insects off leaves, even plucking spiders off their webs at night!

What a great photo? Perhaps you should do a board with these interesting pictures for the customers to see. That is a beauty.

Nice one Steve. Not often you get to see one close up. Noticed the bats are back again here a couple of nights ago. Well two of them anyway.
