As they said it's still a work in progress, they're starting a veg. garden at the far end past the arches with fruit trees & have a massive greenhouse which was part of the nursery where they are growing plants for the garden & we sat in there & had tea & cake made by their teenage daughter, very nice.

I fell asleep here at the computer and the dog barked and woke me. I read this lovely thread and nearly fell asleep again. That is a relaxed type of garden and very beautiful. I love it.

It is very relaxed & peaceful but unfortunately for them it's also close to a motorway junction, you forget the noise after a while though & I'm sure they don't notice it at all anymore.

It's near Lymm libralady, it's still being redeveloped but is lovely & they have some very reasonably priced plants which they sell to help with the upkeep of the garden. When we went the Photography Weekend was on & Art in the Garden is usually a good event. link to Lane End website

Thanks Sue. Had a look on their website - looks good and Lymm is only a short trip away. Did you know there is an open day as part of Lymm Festival in the summer - 15 private gardens to wander around, large and small, as part of NGS. Think the tickets are £7.50. Check out Lymm Festival online and go to Events.

We've been to the Lymm Open Gardens a few times libralady , it's usually very good although we don't always make it round all the gardens, we tried to walk in between all of them one year on a scorching hot day but they were quite spread out & we gave up before the end despite stopping in a couple of them for cups of tea & cake (& Pimms!) The Lymm Historic Transport day was great last year as well & we go to the Dickensian Christmas they have too if the weather is not too bad. I haven't seen which gardens are open yet this year, I think they said when you buy the ticket & get the catalogue you find out about a couple of special openings. A few years ago they opened the big hall garden which was very interesting, didn't even know that was there until we went & we go to Lymm a lot for walks etc.

Hi Sue. Worthwhile annual event and this year's programme sounds very similar. Have you been to this one www.bluebellcottage.co.uk - not far from Frodsham.

Yes, we usually go to Bluebell Cottage gardens once or twice a year & have a look around the garden & nursery, they are in the Gardeners' World magazine 2for1 entry scheme if you buy this month's magazine & also you get free entry for 1 person if you are in the RHS. I follow Sue on Twitter too but I haven't been on there much recently, I love her garden & have pinched some of her ideas in the past.
