Hi guys! I've scarified my lawn twice now....once about 3 weeks ago and today after applying a feed, weed & moss killer 2weeks ago. My hands are red raw and I swear I could do it again and still fill my trug up! Should I just call it s day and mow the lawn tomorrow and leave the next attempt until the Autumn? Any advice would be great! Thanks in advance ?

Jan, you deserve a rest. Leave it now until the Autumn. I assume you did it by hand? Can you borrow an electric scarifier by the Autumn?

I use a lawn maintenance man. He comes 4 times a year, £15 a time. He does all the weedkilling, moss control, fertilising and aerating and scarifying. I could do it myself but it's the scarifying and aerating that are the hard work and I haven't got the equipment.
As Dai says, best left alone now until September.

Okey Dokey Diatheplant - yes I did do it by hand (its a very small piece of lawn but felt like I'd scarified a golf course!)and will gladly go with your advice to leave it until the Autumn. Scrumpy - your idea of paying to have the lawn sorted sounds like a super idea! No blisters there....(unless I get one prizing my purse open!).
