My neighbour has a pond with fish....he has built a contraption over it to keep the herons away; there are quite a few round here, we see them regularly on the eustury.......Good pic btw daitheplant.

they are a real pest with fishponds Lou78W I've tried to make mine so there are no places that they can wade in, which so far seems to be working

Good picture Dai I've noticed Herons flying over us because the Jackdaws always make a terrible din and mob them but not seen one close up.

Very nice bird - I'm fond of herons as they remind me of the Fens where I grew up. You'd never be far from one!

Bess we get a lot of cormorants hanging on the electricity lines to dry. When renewed, the lines have protectors now. Quite a sight.
