The Aruncus is beautiful grindle. @hywel these are very good plants and shrubs. Vita Sackville-West hated American Pillar? I like it.

I really love the Deutzia Cherry, I've found mine has finished quite quickly this year too. I've been racking my brain with the unnamed plant too, I know the name's in there somewhere The American Pillar is very pretty @hywel and your garden is looking lovely SueA I very nearly dug it out last year, but I'm glad I changed my mind

Lovely pictures Cherry, @hywel and grindle @hywel my Cotinus has lots of flowers this year too, perhaps the hot weather has encouraged them. Cherry, could it be a Rheum, I used to have one in my garden but lost it one winter, it had big leaves similar to yours? grindle, I must go and look for the Aruncus I planted last year (can't remember where exactly) and see if it looks as good as yours

Not a Rheum peony. I might have to hunt for the label.

Thank you Cherry Cecile was sent to me by mistake a few years ago, instead of the one I ordered ... but she is very pretty so I am not disappointed.

Cherry, could your unnamed plant be a Gunnera?

Got the name on the label. It was £3.50 at a specialist nursery a good few years ago. It is Darmera peltata and I love it. It has rude stems like fungus and these flower in spring. I realized too late that this plant would be ideal for your damp area SueA. It was growing away well when I thought of it, so I will send you a root next year.
