She liked them at Southport so Derek sent me some tubers. I took some cuttings and bunged them in a little patch between the hydrangeas and fuschia bush. When I remember I take off the odd bud here and there. As to Zoe, must be a soil thing.

Well had a visit to Shrewsbury Thursday with my Dahlia bud Barry what a great show lots and lots to see more than likely go again next year, it's a bit early for Dahlias unless you grow for it like Scrumpy.
Just had a phone call off Barry he was delighted to win the trophy for the best Dahlias in the show, with a very very good vase of nine pom pons. He also had a cracking vase of Barbarry Vulcan. That's a variety I am also growing and is looking very good.
What a good start as he only had a few blooms ready.

and one of the entries, 3 vases miniatures, because the bottom vase of Barbarry Surprise is the one I like the most. Incredible colour. I saw it at a show last year and fell in love with it. I'm growing it to. It is such a lovely deep shade of purple. Also growing Marston Lilac which is another lovely purple. Your dahlia are so good scrumpy. They deserved to win.
