After a lot of frustration of Provado Ultimate Bug Killer doing a fab job of getting rid of 'Ultimate Bugs' (whatever an Ultimate Bug looks like) and a pretty useless job on all of the other bugs. My Dad is testing Bandu which success or failure I'll report back.
What Dad wants is some form of systemic insect control that stays in the dahlia.
What has worked for other people, anyone discovered a systemic that they have had success with / or failures ones to not bother with - so I can report back to my Dad.
He finds it really frustrating that the chemicals that worked have been banned and replaced by ones that just don't work but claim to.
Also, as Tel mentioned wasps in a different thread, I wanted to ask if anyone use wasp traps? We went to an animal centre on holiday last week - with giraffe, tigers and lions, goats and guinea pigs and wasps. I spotted a wasp trap that they made with a tube in a bottle - retrospectively I wish that I had taken a photo.
Anyone tried making traps rather than rely solely on chemicals?
Suggestions, recommendations and experiences much appreciated.

We used old jam jars with water in, the wasps came for the jam and drowned.

We've had this conversation on here before about "bug control".....we advised a member that using washing up liquid is illegal....its not a recognised bug control. 'elf and safety regs etc ....I suspect the veg oil is the same vein....it sounds revolting.....the garlic and chilli would be just as efficacious in a water suspension.....
