I can't use smoke bombs cos of frogs in g'house. Anyway once the g'house has been sterilised the insects need access for pollination and whitefly can return.

Yes sweet pea white fly can return and you have more of a chance of getting on top of them it's better than starting with a infestation , can't you persuade your frogs to go under water for a night.

The problem with nematodes is they are living organisms and as such will not wipe out their food supply. Interplant your toms and melons with some Tagetes. Dai - I am sorry to contradict you but Encarsia Formosa isn't a nematode - it is a parasitic wasp that lays its eggs in the white fly scales. There does need to be whitefly present for it to work but once it does the Whitefly population does go down drastically. It is the best form of control in my greenhouse - Tagetes have not worked for me in the past . www.biological-control.co.uk/#/encarsia/4534683560

I wouldn't like to use a smoke bomb in my veggie greenhouse Thats the problem with them everything has to be cleared out, you can not leave any plants in there, the wasp idea sounds good .

I don't use sprays or anything but somehow either by accident or design I tend not to get many problems with 'Pests' in the greenhouse. The only time I used a smoke bomb was about 20 years or so ago when I got a 'New' (second hand) g'house and I wanted to start it off clean. I did once get RSM on cucumbers and some Busy lizzies but they didn't cause me any lack of sleep and they soon went after spraying water over.
