For some time now I've been looking for a gadget to help identify birdsong whilst I'm out walking. I didn't get very far until a friend asked if my camera took videos. It does and good ones too so now I simply point the camera at the tree, zoom in and I get it on film as well as sound. When I get home I compare it with my BBC library. I like a story with a happy ending

It is init, don't know why I didn't think of it in the first place, especially as it won't cost anything. All I need to do is run the video on my laptop along side the BBC birdsong site. It's so easy to video so guess who I'll be practicing on

'Hank' is that Marvin? you 'rocker' you ;D It should talk, I do the same though I've not played Hank yet! I have discovered 'Spotify' a site that lets you chose and play literally anything. You can't download (unless you want to pay) but who wants to download when it's at your fingertips. All I do is run a cable to my Quad and I can enjoy Eliza Doolittle to Chopin. AJ you should try it as it's quicker than putting a CD on!!, you get to see the list, and there's a loooong lost of choices.
