My son-in-law bought a lemon with a lot of flowers and hopes these all turn into fruit. There don't appear to be bees around his patio in Townsville, yet they must be there. Should he pollinate the flowers himself using a make-up brush (not his) and what kind of fertiliser should be use. It has been planted in a special commercial mix for citrus fruit trees. I think this would be the dwarf Meyer lemon. glyphosate is a member, so we must help all we can. He is just short of time to look in.

They can be hand pollinated with one of YOUR make up brushes....lol that's what I do with my peach. You can buy the special winter/summer feed for citrus; its available at the garden centres.....I would of course appreciate a lemon to "test" with my G&T...

Looks as if you have given Glyphosate the answers he needs and if he gets the special purpose fertiliser from a garden centre, probably Bunnings (like B&Q), he will be sorted. How often should he do the pollination process? Lou78W Glyphosate would love to give you a lemon, and your G&T, but Townsville is not in the next village.

I just gently brush over the blooms every day until they start to wilt and the petals will drop..........the lemon was just wishful thinking!!...lol

I am glad I asked that Lou78W. I would not have known that. I will now draw Glyphosate's attention to your assistance.

Thank you very much for the information, Lou. The blossoms are already wilting and falling off but I'll give them a good brush nonetheless. I was just enjoying a G&T with a 'bush lemon' , a naturalised lemon with a very thick pith. Quite delightful.
