No, not the hot water I sometimes get into here but rather a plumbing problem. Our hot water runs ok but if you try to run off more than a bucketful it starts running cold. just wondered if anyone can explain that symptom and how to sort it. Looks like we will have to get the system checked out if not. never rains but it pours eh!

When was the last time the boiler was serviced Jim?

Is it a combi Jim? We had a problem where a sensor was faulty, it was sensing the water temperature as too hot after running for a short time and cutting the flame off, If it is that a plumber had to solve it but it wasn't an expensive fault

Thanks for that. It is a combi boiler and the firm who installed it are no longer so haven't had it serviced for a while now. Will be looking to get it serviced soon though before the winter hopefully. If it is that sensor problem they should pick that up.

Combi boilers also fail if the gas pressure drops.
