Good day everyone, I'm really confused what flower to grow.my mom wants to start a small flower garden at the back of our house(PHILIPPINES) but i dont know what flower to plant or buy. its really expensive buying flowers in supermarkets there so I'm planning she to start from seeds. and order online so she can start growing flowers nowhere to be found in the neighborhood. right now I'm in japan. I'm growing flowers here too in pots like hyacinths, tulip, daisies, etc. but I'm not quite sure if it will grow in our place with 20~35 degrees Celsius through tout the year. Ive read that Lucian's(which is my favorite cut flower) and asters can survive hot climate so i was planning to buy Lucian's and aster but I'm really not sure. please help. thank you., we have a little greenhouse(no cooler system just windows) for plants that dont love direct sunlight.

Welcome to the forum erani. Well I love Hedychium known as Ginger Lilies, but I can't imagine growing them from seed. Hibiscus shrubs would grow well for you, and you are already growing Okra, so you are not neglecting the vegetable garden.

If it's flowers to cut which you want erani you could try some annuals instead like cosmos which are easy to grow from seed, won't mind the heat & make good cut flowers. Lilies from bulbs would also be a good choice & make good cut flowers too. You could try growing penstemons from seed, they're perennial, like sun & are pretty too.

If you can grow hyacinths you can grow lilies erani, give them a try. You could try growing pelargoniums from seed too , not sure if they're common in your part of the world but they like sun & have lovely bright flowers, we have to put them in the greenhouse over here in winter if we want to keep them for the next year but they would be fine outside all year where you are.
