One of the tiny Cineraria "silver dust" plants at my sisters has grown into a huge bush !
It's nice, but it's in the wrong place. We plan to dig it up, and move it elsewhere.
Question: is this best done in Winter, or left till Summer when the plant has more energy ? (and hence the roots can bed in faster ? )

it's quite often grown as an annual roofy, but if it were mine I would wait until spring to see how it grows back, the RHS says it's hardy to -5/.-10 Once the ground starts to warm up again is an ideal time. Maybe someone else can give you a better idea

Well, we havn't dug it out yet. My thinking was that if we dig it out (and replant it) NOW, then - as we are moving into Winter - the plant has a lower energy budget, and may struggle to re-establish its roots. In spring/summer, on the other hand, there is more sunshine (plus, the plant will be trying to grow ANYWAY), so it might 'dig in' to its new location much faster. Obviously, I'd be using a symbiotic Mycorrhizal fungus (1) to help the roots out either way Notes (1) Yup, I'm just showing off now
