I had two transactions for mobile phone top ups for a provider we didn't use but it was my debit card, got the money back eventually. It has caused me all sorts of problems though  . Wasn't able to buy a mobile phone in a shop my card was refused twice, very embrassing, eventually my husband used his card (for the same bank account) and it went through: my mobile contract is in his name because of it Grr. the bank had blocked all use of my card for mobile related items, but hadn't told me. Glad you got it sorted out quickly Rosie. |

Mine got used for mobile tops ups too, it shows that kids are using them i suppose.
The banks always refund the money, they didn't bat an eyelid with mine.

There seems to be more and more fraud around - is that partly due to shops refusing to accept cheques?

They say it's a very small percentage but if you are the one, that doesn't help. Does anyone remember the days when you could pay your electricity bill at the local electricity board shop? It makes you wonder if we really are progressing, it's all so complicated these days.....or am I just getting old !

I've just sat and read this with my bottom jaw heading south and I was going to say that the best way to deal with internet shopping is to use Paypal as that is the safest but reading what you have all written it seams I've been extremely lucky so far. Being "less" abled than most we do an awful lot of our shopping on line and I always insist on using Paypal as I thought it was the safest. I'm off now to check my bank accounts! Lol |

cash was so uncomplicated, if you had it you spent it, if you didn't you went without ;D
