Hi Mark yes even I spoke to you hehe how is it going Mark still focusing on the Pompons? How is your propagation going? don't forget if you are struggling for a variety use your contacts I am sure Stuart will help you out.
I always find all or nearly all growers will help you out and are all to willing to help and pour out the wealth of their knowledge sometime even if your not asking hehe. I find the problem is people are afraid to ask at times, and the exhibitors who have forgotten they were novices once are not worth speaking to anyway and will probably come out with a load of tosh.
All the best Mark are you still up for stewarding on the 16th September at Harrogate?

I ask away- it's the only way IMO. I then hear the responses and see which way I want to try. No two people are/grow the same so I thirst for all knowledge. Also some people can be having a hard day and we sometimes forget to take this into consideration, although I do try to remember that a typed word can be read in many ways - and not always the way the writer intended. That's my two peneth

Well said Cat hope you and Che are both well. Some threads are written with enthusiasm and can appear bullish. I know what you are saying all too well.

Yes thank you ian we are well, hope you and yours are OK too. We have lost a Vivian Russell and a Marston lilac so far this winter but rest still look OK (what do I know until they grow!!) I am starting my slug repellant this month as that was a major issue last year and putting some very well rotted manure down end of month. All good stuff

OK folks top tips needed
Pot tubers - I know they are in a 4-5" pot as I've had convo. Before but is it simply grow cutting on to this pot size then keep in this size for summer, watering as and when to encourage root growth then in autumn you have smaller tubers to store? I have small tubers but not grown intentionally as a pot tuber. Thanks folks

A friend of mine Ruskin Stan used to go to holland every season to learn how the Dutch grow when they wanted stock tubers they planted very close together 4 to 6 inches apart to get a small tuber for taking cuttings off or selling on .

Well I cannot believe the National Dhalia Society AGM is virtually on us it is on the 13th March (Sunday) at Kenilworth school Kenilworth. Then the Northern Committee AGM at Crooklands Hotel Crooklands near Kendal. All interested parties welcome. There are usually a few plants for sale.
Well with the better light the tubers are producing some fine looking shoots and with all showing life I will have the varieties I need.
