Blimy, now it's Alan Rickmans turn, he was brilliant in Dogma and Galaxy Quest. I've only seen one Harry Potter film and not seen Die Hard so can't comment on them!

Another sad loss this week to the entertainment world, and of course more importantly his friends and family.
He'll be greatly missed.

As I've said before, 'People are born and people die'. Everybody dies, its a fact of life. leave the mourning to the friends and family. Alan Rickman was only doing is job which was being an actor. Whether he was good at it or bad is a matter of opinion but let's not go into a tidal wave of grief every time somebody in the public eye departs this life. Lots of people die every single day and many of them were probably briliant at whatever it was they did in life, others not so but we don't lament their passing unless close to them. as gardeners we see death all around, of prized plants, of wildlife and all the creatures we try usually unsuccessfully to exterminate but no need for a fuss. At my age I have seen many 'Celebrities' leave this life and of course I tend to regret their passing but I value the joy that remains of their music eg. and the films which they appear in still being shown occaionally. far too many to mention, so I won't.

Agree 100% with you. What a morbid society we have become in this country. I liked David Bowie, bought his albums, but I didn't know him personally, so no all night vigils, black arm bands or RIPs on facebook from me. Alan Rickman, posh Shakespearean actor, starred in some big hit movies, sad he's gone but I never knew him. Don't get me started on that Princess Di circus!
