The first zinnia flowers have bloomed on the International Space Station where they are experimenting with gardening in space both for food supplies & recreation. roofgardener & Bess you might be interested as they're using red, green & blue LED lights to grow them. Spoiler alert - don't read it if you haven't seen the film 'The Martian' & want to without knowing what happens! Zinnias in Space

Well if they do grow spuds it would have to be 'Rocket' peas, 'Meteor' and for flowers why not 'Shooting Stars For the dahlia growers, 'Jupiter'. Just can't think of more atm though I'm sure there are some apt ones.
