The sun brought some of the butterflies & bees out today, I did see what looked like a honey bee fly past, winter gnats, a few flies & a small tortoiseshell butterfly & a buff tail bumblebee. Took a few photos of the butterfly through the patio doors as I didn't want to disturb it while it was feeding so a bit blurry:- The bumblebee was on the sarcococca by the back door so I just got a quick snap as I was coming in.

My O.H. saw the weather forecast & said they'd all freeze to death last night but I told him they'd find somewhere to hide & keep warm (hopefully!).

Lovely pictures SueA I've seen quite a few bees out and about on sunny days but no butterflies yet.

My O.H. saw the weather forecast & said they'd all freeze to death last night but I told him they'd find somewhere to hide & keep warm (hopefully!). The temperature went down to minus 6 here last night Sue and this afternoon in the sun I saw a couple of bees on the Hellebore flowers so they must have found a cosy spot somewhere during the night
