Sounds like you had a nice relaxing day seaburn. This is the first day I have actually been working in the garden, other than the greenhouse.
I cleared and dug over 4 veg beds, and weeded the stone paths around them. Removed some weeds from a large plot I`d worked on last year to get rid of couch grass. Turned over and remixed a large (smelly) compost bin ( hubby had thrown ALL the grass on at once tut tut) Accidental partly cleaned out the shed while looking for something. Sorted through all the pots and cell trays of unplanted stuff and found lots of nice stuff reappearing like amsonia campanula, diascias, gaura, hibiscus and strawberries grown from seed last year. Cleared away all of last years dead annuals from the front gardens ( left overwinter for the wild life !!) and found a lovely bleeding heart, I don`t even remember buying, in a pot hidden away against the fence. lastly potted up a peony and a perennial phlox in the greenhouse.

I'm not sure yet, I have a large Photinia which is looking for a home, I might make some obelisks and trellis and try climbers to fill the gaqp for now.

like the sound of the Photinia, at least that's very hardy. I think I'll visit Plants Galore and see what large shrubs they've got to replace some of mine, their new stuff should be in now

It has to be hardy for me too. I've spotted a few plants I liked but all said to protect from hard frosts.
