Well at least one is. first noticed in late afternoon/early evening about a week ago and very busy flitting around its usual place. Not too sure if there is more than one or just the same one as they are so fast.

I saw the first one of ours on Thursday night sweetpea about 8.15pm, I think it was just the one on it's own. I've got a cheap little bat detector I walk down the garden with & you can hear them as they fly past clicking away.

Can't say I've ever heard them but have held a few in my time some found hurt and some we used to catch in Libya when I was out there. Like little mice with wings. Always let them go and one I found hurt seemed to recover after a while and flew off.

Just noticed my spelling mistake when you quoted me sweetpea! I've never seen one close up apart from a few years ago in Chester Zoo where they have a bat enclosure you can walk through & the bats all fly around your head, they have lots of different bats including the whopping big fruit bats, it's a fantastic experience.

where I used to live in Somerset, they used to roost in the cottage in the summer, we had to have the bat man in to tell us when we could do work in the loft, I did even have one misrooted and ended up hanging from the wallpaper on the landing, what a job that was to get it out
