The answer is simple: permanantly re-schedule GW for a slot that is both convenient for gardeners, but also out of the way of sports competitions.

To be honest I love watching sport as well as G.World but I do think it's wrong that the programme just gets dropped altogether, I'm sure they could put it on at a different time before or after the live event & repeat it over the weekend as usual. Viewers could catch the repeat or watch on iplayer if the time was inconvenient for them, I usually end up recording G.W. or watching on iplayer anyway but we can't even do that if it's just not being shown.

We all need to tell the BBC what we think, we pay our license fee yet get shoddy treatment.

I'm really fed up with BBC I think it's shameful - I wrote to points of view about it last week, my views didn't get aired but maybe will in the next few weeks. Maybe if everyone who is annoyed could also write to Sue Biggs at the RHS maybe she could get involved! To think Tichmarsh used to bang on about getting young people and others who have never gardened before, interested - well.. they'll get very little tutelage on the BBC. They could reschedule permanently to another day and or time or as already suggested repeated - what's so difficult about that when we have repeats of other programs all the time? I do wish the other stations would take on board what's going on and make programmes silmilar to gardeners world. I wish I could choose who I paid my license to, but I don't have that choice unfortunately - just have to put up with it - but I think you're right rosie they should hear the wrath of us so called meek gardener as that's how we're probably viewed and let them know enough is enough.

Hear Hear!
There are specified sports channels, so why should our one gardening programme keep getting dropped.
It happens even more often in Wales, when the Six Nations is happening, but I've discovered that BBC2HD usually transmits the England programming, and I've watched recent episodes there.
Who cares about 23 men and a piece of inflated plastic, on a pitch, with a couple of flag wavers on the sidelines and an irate manager or two in the dugout??

the Beeb is always telling us that it wants to hear our opinion on the scheduling, yet when they get complaints they just make excuses and ignore what everyone is saying, so much for a caring company, they could easily move GW to another slot if they wanted to, they just want to go their own way and have no intentions of ever listening to the licence payers

So I just heard Monty say...... very annoying. Why couldn't they show it later on or on BBC4?
With all the channel choice, there should be no need to cancel for sports programmes.
