It makes me annoyed also, when garden programmes get cancelled for sport ... The people in charge of the BBC are obviously not gardeners. I think all sport is BORING.
I can't understand why people want to sit around watching someone else play a game.

There must be more gardeners than football fans, surely?

reading their replies they have no intention of changing and putting GW on at any other time so that we don't lose a programme completely, so much for listening to their viewers

You're right grindle they have no intention of taking into consideration what gardeners are saying! Eastenders fans yes, football fans yes but gardeners? NO! I wish we had an option to pay our license to another channel - but just like BT the BBC has the monopoly - you'd think one of the digital channels would've put on garden/ diy channel of some sort

I enjoyed the fact that they are out and about looking at different gardens with some new presenters

I haven't watched it yet as we were out at the local football - we lost 6-0 , the other team were just a lot better than ours . I liked the half hour programme as I usually have to record it & it's easier to find the odd half hour to watch it back. Looking forward to seeing the new format though with some new ideas, as long as Nigel & Nellie are still on.

Yes it was dianthus I read somewhere that they are trying to reach a wider audience and have the producer of Bake off now in the hope it will appeal to more people It was getting a bit samey, I'm looking forward to seeing the progress of Adam Frost's new garden, I do like him I think the furore they had over taking programmes off for sport had to make them rethink their attitude, after all they are supposed to be working with the RHS to promote gardening, how could they have possibly done that if they kept axing it.

I'm afraid I don't even have a TV license :/ we used to use IPlayer, but now we can't justify having to pay a full license fee for watching all of the about three interesting programs on the BBC! Shame about GW, Sport ought to have its own channel, it's so massive these days.
