There is a huge armed forces operation on just now, Operation Joint Warrior. Soo yesterday we went to RAF Lossiemouth and what a show we got!! You can walk along a track and get almost at the end of the runway... and yes, we really were THAT close to the plane coming into land, couldn't have been more than 30ft above us we were just about knocked off our feet with the down draught

They fly up the Usk Valley like that. When they were practising to go to Iraq, they flew lower than usual and were doing more contour flying. I saw the pilot one day, he was that low! The Hercs were much more majestic when they flew over, and seemed so slow by comparison.

When I saw the title of your thread Rosie I thought it was a post about a new knee joint procedure you were considering!

Gosh... I think that's a Tornado ! I would LOVE to have been there rosie. It was indeed a Tornado Roofy, there are Typhoons and Tornados based at RAF Lossiemouth, all the spotters have a great relationship with the site police, they know that no damage or stupidness will happen so they let them stay right on the perimeter fence line.
