I wondered in another forum about geese flying north this early, well i have discovered that these geese are over wintering here and they fly over us in the morning to go to feeding grounds and they all come back at night! I counted 15 huge skeins this morning

We used to have a lot of Canada geese visiting the area, but I haven't seen a single one this winter. Too cold even for them???

The field next door is half flooded, there are a few hundred Canada Geese in there at the moment. What I was wondering is how they know to gather there? This was taken when it flooded before Christmas, there are still lots of geese, there are as many if not more out of shot.
