Hello I am new to this group an joined hoping for some ideas/ inspiration
My house leads on to a large decking area, then four steps down in to the garden. The garden is looking lovely and a I have just finished painting the decking area.
My problem is the brick wall of the house, it doesn't look very nice, I have considered painting or covering it some how. If I paint how high do I go? will the rest look odd? Is there anything else I could do?
My garden is my haven but this (to me) is a bit of an eyesaw !
Any recommendations welcome.
Thank you in advance
Laura

Hi stokoelokoe & welcome to the forum. Not sure if you've tried to put photos on above but I can't see any, it might just be me though, our internet is a bit slow tonight! The best way is to upload your photo (resize if necessary to 640 pixels) to a photo host such as tinypic or Photobucket, copy the 'Direct link' line, click the photo icon on the bar at the top of the reply box here, delete the 'http:' which is already in there & paste the link in there. If you want to cheer your brick wall up a bit you could fix some trellis to it & grow some climbing plants up it. If you haven't got soil at the bottom of the wall you could use large pots or planters & grow something like clematis, climbing roses, passionflowers etc.

I added a photo as my avatar so should show as my profile picture?
I was possibly considering rendering, but its how far up it would go and how it would look against the house next door,

I can see your avatar pic. stokoelokoe I'd get someone professional in for advice if you want rendering, you need someone who knows what they're doing or it could end up peeling off after a few years. You could always ask your neighbours if they would like to have the same done to their house so it would go straight across the two, I would imagine having it up to the middle between the two floors of your house would work?
