Managed to finally get some good shots of an Orange Tip Butterfly the other day at Hulne Park near Alnwick in Northumberland.

They're lovely shots Fractal, they flutter about so much I've hardly ever got a decent photo of them!

They're lovely shots Fractal, they flutter about so much I've hardly ever got a decent photo of them! They were flying constantly up and down the river in the sunshine. The sun went behind a cloud for a few minutes and they stopped flying. Luckily, I saw where one dropped down onto some ferns so crept up expecting to see it fly off. I started on zoom with camera but ended up inches away using my mobile phone camera. As soon as the sun came out, it was off again.

I've seen them in the garden here but like Sue I've never managed to get very close to have a good look, I hadn't noticed that the underside of the wings was patterned. Great pics SteveN
