Try a soapy water spray, @joysie , if you don't want to use insecticide on the plant.... or spray something like bug clear if that isn't a problem.
You may also find that some ants are farming them, so check for ant's nests near the base of the plant.

Bug Clear will do the job. If you go with the soapy water make sure no one catches you as it is illegal to use.

About 20 years ago Di. It is illegal to use anything that is not a registered pesticide, for that purpose. IF caught you can be fined up to £5000.

I remember that daitheplant and I still do it - I said I'll worry when the fairy police turn up at the door...fairy liquid is a walk in the park when you consider the lethal nightmare pesticides out there...shocking! The organic washing up soap is effective too which reminds me....

It is a law invented in Brussels and forced on all member states. Why am I not surprised!!! Anyone would think they were spraying mercury about. As daisy says, the pesticides contain a lot worse than non-ionic surfactants and antibacterials.
