This is one of several leaves on a 4 year old Golden Champion grape. Are the raised "bumps" an indication of a problem and if so how do I treat it?

Good evening Ron, and welcome to the site. I think it is just a physiological (unsightly) problem and nothing to worry about.

Could it be grape leaf blister mite ? If so, you might want to remove the effected leaves to prevent the mites spreading ? Apparantly it doesn't harm the vine, and the grapes are still OK to harvest/eat ? There is an article about it here .

Hi ron , I think Roofy is right & it's blister mite, I had it once or twice on the grapevine over an arch at our old house. It's harmless but if there are only a few leaves affected you can just pull them off if you want to but if it's on a lot just leave them as the grapevine needs some leaves even if they do look a bit lumpy!

Thanks for all the reassurances.
Since posting this I have noticed similar bumps on a rose bush. The leaves look healthy , can I assume it's the same thing?

I think on roses ron it's more likely to be some kind of insect damage on the underside of the leaves causing the bumps, have a look & see if there are any aphids/mites/scale insects/larvae etc. on the back of the leaves & wash them off if you find any.
