I know we steer clear of politics on here but todays news was the best I've heard in years! We'll have control of our own country once again, not ruled by Merkel and Brussels. Maybe people will now be proud to say "I'm British" and not apologize for it like the 'In' voters....

It has been the most divisive, and perhaps even the most bad-tempered - referendum/election type thingy that I can remember.
52-48 is hardly a ringing endorsement. Still, I'm glad we've voted to leave.
Just bear in mind... the referendum is NOT binding upon the government ! It is advisory only.

Oh no we don'tDuring the Scottish referendum the forum was buzzing and that was including our revered mods looks like we may be in for a rerun of that before too long. ps I'm glad we voted OUT. I'm a scot, a Brit, a UK Citizen or whatever you like, definitely NOT a European.

The roofgarden was in a turmoil... it was almost civil war. The working-class Onions, Spudlinks, Parsley, Sage and Carrots voted 'leave'. The metropolitan and European elites such as the Shallots, Corriander and French Marigolds voted "remain". The Welsh Onions where dividing on the issue

roofgardener .....
Surely, the strawberries got the casting vote, what with their red, 'white' cream and 'eton'
I think the 40's and under didn't understand what we voted to join in the 70's, and have been brainwashed by years of EU propaganda.
If a company's accounts can't get signed off by auditors for twenty years, then the board of directors should be dispensed with!

Weeelll.... to be fair... the auditors DID sign off on the accounts, but they where qualified. And THAT was mostly because the host nations didn't report properly on how they'd spent the money that the EU had given them.

Ahh, oops! Sorry if I got that wrong.
Still not happy about all the expensive artwork they have bought. They should be borrowing artwork that is in museum storage!

The commissioners have been buying expensive modern art works to put in the EU buildings. It's nit the best use of public money, to lavish on private wall hangings and pieces of pottery etc. Goodness knows how many millions have been spent on it.

I think that by voting OUT we have stirred a hornets nest amongst the other 27 countries. The likes of France and Germany will miss us more than we will miss them.
