Sorry the photos are not all that great - does the magnificence of it no justice at all. Managed to capture these on my phone - about 2am. There were 2-3 strikes every 5 seconds for around 30 minuets, it seemed to circle right above us and not move away. It lit up huge clouds that were invisible, I've never seen anything like it ever - it was absolutely amazing - awesome!

I think it wasn't right on us here but not too far away. Maureen was annoyed I didn't wake her as she likes to watch the lightning flashes.
