Advice please - I've got a bucket of compost from two pots of lilies that were killed by vine weevils. I don't think there are any more in there, but what do I do with the compost please? I can only think of sprinkinmg it on the lawn so that if I missed any, the birds would eat them. You could water the soil with Provado vine weevil killer Geranium, or bag the compost up and get rid of it somewhere I think they would probably die anyway once they have nothing to feed on.

I'm just a bit too scaredy-cat to use it anywhere. I haven't got any Provado, Peony. I've never had vine weevils before! Now where did they arrive from I wonder?

I feel very lucky that I haven't found a lily beetle yet. I did tip a pot of compost onto a raised bed only to find a couple of vine weevils in it. I searched to try and get them all but I probably missed some. Oh well, it's too late now do they eat all roots? The bed contains a Pieris. In my experience they seem to particularly like begonias, sedums, lillies and heucheras. I have a pieris in a pot and that hasn't been affected WF I hope the pieris isn't in the bed that you are intending to plant your "special" begonias

Yes they would, Bruv in law also used to throw them in to the fish pond when he found any, they loved them
